The biggest mistake a student could make is thinking that since there are still a few weeks or months left before an exam, studying can be delayed until later.
Starting even when the exam is on the horizon can help you in a lot of different ways, and we’ll cover them in this blog post one by one.

Time to figure out your flaws:
When you start preparing early, you’re immediately confronted with what you’re bad at doing, and what you’re already skilled at. Knowing your flaws while you still have plenty of time to fix them lets you work on them without stressing yourself out, and lets you focus on making sure you’re confident without cramming.
Time to ask for help:
Studying the night before an exam means you can’t possibly get your teachers’ help, probably because everyone else will be asking for it too! Starting early not only lets you find help more easily, but also shows your teachers your commitment to the subject.
Time to study more effectively:
Studies have shown (Sue B et al. “Stress and Learning in Pupils: Neuroscience Evidence and its Relevance for Teachers.”, 2021) stress to be a major factor in the success of a student’s revision and information retention. If students are too stressed, their emotions might make them unable to learn anything new or retain what they have been studying, making it a very smart move indeed to start early and reduce your struggles later.
Time to relax:
Let's face it, no one can study for an exam without giving themselves some time for breaks, and expecting yourself to study all night effectively is unrealistic. Starting early makes you feel less guilty about taking breaks, and helps you keep your mental health in check even with exam stress weighing you down.
